Old Instructions:
-First download the Arokai zip file.

-You need Windows to run it, or some kind of emulator if you're using a mac. Also, because this isn't provided in an installer, you'll need to install the following things yourself.

-The Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables.
(If you don't have it, you'll probably get a "MSCP100.dll is missing" error.)
if your system is 64 bits/x64 -> [link]

if your system is 32 bits/x32 -> [link]

says, "If you had this problem and downloaded the 64 bit Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables cuz you have a 64 bit computer (like i do and i did this), then download the 32 bit version!!! i did and then it started working :3"

-Direct X
(If you don't have it, you'll probably get a "d3dx9_43.dll is missing" error.)

All of these downloads are from MICROSOFT. They will not harm your computer. Nor will the Arokai download.

This is not a finished product, but I decided today, on a whim, you know.... whatever. You guys can have it and play around with it. Be warned though, I didn't even get to accessories yet or fixing the crashing error. And it's pretty basic- it's basically a glorified editor like the other flash ones on DA. Just in 3D. It otherwise runs great though, I think.

In the meantime, I'm going to be restructuring this project, and deleting a lot of old stuff. And fixing the deviantart group. There of course, will be further updates to the editor in the future!

Have fun! You may now also submit screenshots of your characters made in the editor to the new 'Characters' folder in

I was watching a video and I clicked a link and it led me to this. I know I have to download some stuff but do you login and create your canine on this game? I got confused because I ended up on deviantart, I was wondering if this is just a fun little mini game for you to play and create your canine, or login and actually create your canine and save it and everything for arokai.

This looks so fun! I have a mac, and I'm terrible with tech stuff (I don't even know what 'emulators' are). My mom might be able to help me download it, but until then I'd just like to say I fully support your work! <3
